Two young talented musicians Christopher Quaid (violin, Ireland) and Marianne Laumets (piano, Estonia) will bring to you a spirited performance on the 5th of March 16:30 at the Royal Irish Academy of Music.
Christopher Quaid is one of the top young violinists in Ireland. He is presently an active performer with many solo and chamber music engagements. Christopher has been chosen to perform as a soloist with the RIAM Symphony Orchestra in the spring of 2016, and has previous experience playing in the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, and the Irish Chamber Orchestra. He is the founder of the Quaid Quartet which has received much recognition and regularly participates in charity events. Christopher is due to graduate the Royal Irish Academy of Music with a BA degree in spring 2016, as of September 2016 he has confirmed to commence MA studies at the Royal College of Music in London.
Marianne Laumets is an Estonian pianist and the executive director of Dragon Culture Exchange MTÜ. She is a teacher at Kose Music School (Estonia), an active chamber musician, as well as a piano MA student at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (docent Ada Kuuseoks). She has given solo recitals in Estonia, the UK, China, and participated in numerous masterclasses: Stephen Hough, Steven Osborne, Julius Drake, Aaron Shorr, Francesco Florenza, Fali Pavri, etc. She has been an exchange student at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester during 2013-2014, and in 2015-2016 at the Royal Irish Academy of Music.
