1st Dragon International Music Festival takes place at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (EAMT), Tatari 13. The festival includes the International Youth Piano Competition (19.08.2016), master classes (17-18.08), an awards ceremony gala concert (19.08), and a public concert for the winners (23.09.2016).
International Youth Piano Competition:
Category I: Repertoire of free choice:
Group A*
7 – 12 years (Time limit – 5 min)
13 – 18 years (Time limit – 8 min)
19 – 30 years (Time limit – 10 min)
Group B*
7 – 12 years (Time limit – 5 min)
13 – 18 years (Time limit – 8 min)
19 – 30 years (Time limit – 10 min)
Group A * (Tallinn Music High School, Heino Eller Tartu Music College, Georg Ots Music School, EMTA)
Group B * (Children’s music schools, private students, VHK, Kullo, etc.)
Category II: Chinese music (preselected pieces):

Only one piece must be performed. Every age group may choose between two pieces, it may be performed from the scores. The scores are available at https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B1XG3b6j1uJlSnNYYkhoUHRnMzg&usp=sharing

Competition rules:
1. Registration is necessary for taking part of the festival. The registration is free of charge, at https://drive.google.com/open?id=13lU1IHRLIJpTvc4VGuvNJA6vJpcDbdy6prpibToplH0. The application deadline for the International Youth Piano Competition is the 10th of August2016.
2. The whole repertoire of free choice must be played by memory.Chinese music (preselected pieces) may be performed from the score.
3. Regarding the repertoire of free choice: participants are allowed to play single movements of pieces.
4. One player may take part of two different groups at the same time: repertoire of free choice and Chinese music.
5. In the group of Chinese music, repertore must be chosen according to the list provided at

6. All concerts and master classes of the festival are free of charge and open to listeners.
7. Participants agree to have photos and recordings from the festival events published.
8. The jury has the right to reserve the first prize empyt if the competitiors do not meet the requirements.
9. Should any dispute arise regarding the interpretation of any part of the rules and regulations of the International Youth Piano Competition, the decision of the competition administration and jury will be final and not subject to any appeal. The competition administration reserves the right to amend any of the rules or regulations contained herein if it is considered necessary for the Competition.
10. The first 9 pianists who register for the competition are able to apply for one free master class. The organisers will contact first participants regarding masterclasses.

Timetable:
August 17 – 10:00-12:00 master classes for Estonians and afternoon for Chinese.
August 18 – master classes for Chinese
August 19 – competition (EMTA organ hall A404), final ceremony and concert (EMTA chamber hall C405)– the schedule will be announced one week before the competition
The organisers reserve the right to make small changes within the competition schedule timing.
